Rebecca Purry, a 28-year-old resident of Pickens, South Carolina, tragically lost her life on April 17, 2019. Rebecca had recently moved to her aunt Claudette Purry's home in Pickens after leaving her ex-boyfriend, Marco Vaught, in North Carolina. On April 16, 2019, Rebecca visited the Pickens Police Department to report a threatening phone call from Vaught. Despite the police taking her report seriously and increasing patrols in her neighborhood, the situation escalated.
