Howidaa Abdeldaim was a 42-year-old Black woman from Louisville, Kentucky, whose life ended violently on August 23, 2018. That late-summer day, police were called to an apartment building on Carl Court, a cluster of modest units in the city’s Jacobs neighborhood. Inside one of those units, Apartment #5 at 1835 Carl Court, they found her, the victim of a homicide that would immediately become another entry in Louisville’s growing ledger of unsolved killings.
