In the early spring of 2020, the life of James Rashad Forward, a 29-year-old man from Gantt, South Carolina, was tragically cut short. On the evening of Sunday, March 8, 2020, Forward, known to his loved ones as 'Shad,' was fatally wounded by gunfire in his hometown. The incident prompted an immediate homicide investigation by the Greenville County Sheriff's Office.
