Lacey Marie Toole, a 34-year-old White/Caucasian female from Warrenville, South Carolina, tragically lost her life following a domestic violence incident that occurred on the evening of June 3, 2022. The violent encounter took place at a residence located in the 100 block of Pelzer Street in Warrenville, a community situated near Augusta Road in the Langley Pond area. Aiken County Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to the scene around 7:45 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting.
Upon their arrival, law enforcement officials discovered Lacey in the front yard of the property, suffering from a gunshot wound.
During the initial investigation at the scene, deputies also located a male subject on the front porch of the home who had sustained a gunshot wound as well. Investigators determined that the man, identified as Lacey's boyfriend, had shot her during a domestic dispute before turning the weapon on himself in an apparent attempted murder-suicide. Both individuals were urgently transported to a hospital in Augusta, Georgia, for medical treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Lacey succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after midnight on June 4, 2022.
The boyfriend, whose identity was not immediately released to the public by authorities, remained in critical condition at Augusta University Medical Center following the incident. At the time of the initial reports, no formal charges had been filed against him due to his medical status, though the Aiken County Coroner's Office and the Sheriff's Office continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Lacey was remembered as a devoted mother to her three children, Alexis, Diesel, and Dylan Williams, and a loving daughter and sister who prioritized her family above all else.
