In the late hours of a Sunday evening in Orangeburg, South Carolina, the life of 27-year-old Safiya Daniels, a female resident of Irmo, was tragically cut short by gunfire. The shooting occurred on August 21, 2022, on Buckley Street, in close proximity to the South Carolina State University campus. Daniels was rushed to the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg, but she ultimately succumbed to her injuries.
