On the night of May 10, 1894, a horrific crime took place in Linn County, Missouri, resulting in the brutal murder of the Meeks family. Among the victims was 4-year-old Hattie Meeks. The tragedy unfolded when Gus Meeks, his wife Delora, and their children, Hattie and Mary, were taken out of their home and murdered. The only survivor was 6-year-old Nellie Meeks, who managed to escape and seek help.
