Deputy Marshal John Franklin Chambers of the Aurora Police Department in Missouri was tragically shot and killed on September 19, 1907. The incident occurred on Main Street in front of the Central Saloon on Madison Avenue. Chambers was approached by a man he had encountered the previous night.
