Patrolman George August Moulat, aged 33, tragically lost his life on October 16, 1980, in Reeds Spring, Missouri. Moulat, who had been serving with the Reeds Spring Police Department for just one year, was found shot to death in his patrol car. The incident occurred shortly after he had arrested a suspect during a traffic stop. The suspect had become combative and resisted arrest, and while in custody, he threatened to kill Patrolman Moulat upon his release.
