Charles Albert LaRew, aged 35, was the Sheriff of Cedar County, Missouri, when he tragically lost his life on July 26, 1987. Sheriff LaRew was responding to a report of a residential burglary at a mobile home near Caplinger Mills, approximately eight miles south of Stockton, Missouri. Upon arriving at the scene around 3:00 AM, he encountered a booby-trap set by the residents of the mobile home.
