Richard George Vancena, aged 58, tragically lost his life on March 1, 1994, in Boonville, Missouri. The incident occurred at the Kemper Military School and College, where Vancena was employed as a manager. On that fateful day, an armed and intoxicated ex-convict named Dante D. Hayes entered the school's cafeteria in search of his estranged wife. Hayes, who had a heated argument with his wife the previous night, was reportedly carrying a shotgun and made threats to kill everyone present.
