In the early morning hours of June 14, 2015, 36-year-old Aaron Matej was walking near the intersection of 13th Street North and 183rd Street West in Goddard, Kansas, when he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. Friends of Aaron discovered him lying in the road at approximately 2:15 a.m. and immediately called for help. He was transported to a local hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
