On a late summer evening in Kansas City, Missouri, the life of Maurice B. Brown, a 48-year-old Black male, was brought to a sudden and violent end. The date was September 6, 2014, inside a residence in the 4900 block of College Avenue. The moments leading up to the tragedy were filled with the sound of loud talking, an argument that would ultimately escalate to fatal violence.
