Gary Dean Lack, a 58-year-old man from Nora Springs, Iowa, died on January 14, 2004, under suspicious circumstances. Lack had been battling hormone-feeding tumors that spread to his colon and liver, and he was under hospice care. On the day of his death, a hospice nurse administered an unprescribed medication that she had stolen from another recently deceased patient.
