A beloved teacher is found dead in her garage more than 70 years ago At Portland High School in Portland, Indiana, Garnet Ginn taught home economics. In late February of 1950, when she failed to show up for work, the police were called. A few doors down from the police station, Ginn rented a garage to store her 1949 Pontiac Firebird. The head of the school district and a neighbor looked into it. They discovered Garnet's lifeless body inside, hanging from a sewing machine belt that was fastened to a door handle.
