A man's body is discovered behind the counter of a sporting goods store
In the summer of 1976, the life of a young business owner in rural Indiana was tragically cut short in a crime that has remained unsolved for decades. Daniel Gene Lutz, a 28-year-old Caucasian male, was found deceased on June 22, 1976. His body was discovered at approximately 12:50 p.m. behind the counter of the Lutz Sporting Goods and Grocery Store, a business he operated on State Road 44, about 4.5 miles west of Liberty.
