In the summer of 2016, the quiet life of 61-year-old Keith Bridwell came to a violent end in his Newburg, Missouri home. On August 6th, he was found shot to death, a victim of a planned robbery that escalated to murder. Bridwell, a man remembered by friends as a good-hearted and pure soul, was targeted by two individuals he knew.
The investigation into his death led authorities to Lindsay DeBault of St. James and Michael Talley of Mountain Home, Arkansas.
According to DeBault's own account to detectives, she and Talley went to Bridwell's residence with the intention of robbing him over a sum of money she claimed he owed her. While DeBault admitted to stealing from Bridwell after he had been shot, she maintained that it was Talley who pulled the trigger, ending Bridwell's life.
Both DeBault and Talley were apprehended and faced charges for their roles in the crime. In the end, both pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and first-degree burglary. For his part in the fatal shooting, Michael Talley was sentenced to life in prison, with an additional 20 years. Lindsay DeBault received a 30-year prison sentence for her involvement in the robbery and murder of Keith Bridwell.
