A lifelong resident of the area, he had served as a dedicated law enforcement officer for over a decade, specifically working as a detective with the Kansas City Police Department. His career was marked by significant contributions to public safety, including dangerous undercover work for which he was posthumously recognized as the Missouri Narcotics Officer of the Year.
The circumstances surrounding his death began on February 8, 2019, when he was discovered in Liberty, Missouri, suffering from a life-threatening gunshot injury. He was immediately transported to Liberty Hospital, where trauma and ICU teams worked to treat his injuries. Despite their efforts, he succumbed to his condition two days later.
