In the spring of 2009, a young Hispanic man's life was tragically cut short on the east side of Indianapolis. On the evening of May 29th, 24-year-old Armando Samaniego, sometimes referred to as Ardo Saiego, was in the vicinity of East 38th Street and North Post Road when the sound of multiple gunshots pierced the air. Witnesses in the area reported seeing a vehicle speeding away from the scene immediately following the gunfire.
When officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department arrived, they found Armando Samaniego suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The sudden and violent nature of his death sent shockwaves through his community, leaving behind a grieving family who remembered him for his dedication to them.
In the years that have followed, the investigation into Armando's murder has remained open. Detectives have pursued leads and appealed to the public for any information that might lead to a breakthrough in the case.
