In the early moments of a Thursday, just after midnight on February 20, 2020, the life of 21-year-old Maurice Patton Jr. was tragically cut short. A young Black/African American man from Berkeley, a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri, he was found with at least one gunshot wound in the 6000 block of Madison Avenue. The Berkeley Police Department responded to the scene at approximately 12:05 a.m.
