In the early morning hours of Saturday, May 29, 2010, the sound of gunshots echoed through a west side Indianapolis neighborhood, though no immediate calls to police were made. Later that morning, around 10 a.m., a grim discovery was made in the driveway of a residence at 1922 North Harding Street. There, lying between two parked vehicles, was the body of 46-year-old Darrell T. Wallsmith. He was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities.
