In the spring of 2024, a dispute on the northeast side of Indianapolis escalated to a fatal conclusion, ending the life of 47-year-old Christopher Brown. The male victim was shot and killed on April 22, 2024, near the intersection of 25th Street and Hillside Avenue, in the vicinity of the New Bridge Apartments complex.
The events leading to the shooting reportedly began with an argument inside the apartment complex. Witnesses later told law enforcement they heard a man, identified as Frank Alexander, shout, 'I'll shoot you and kill you right here,' just moments before the deadly encounter. Security footage from the area captured the tragic events as they unfolded, showing Alexander firing at Brown at least eight times. After the shooting, the gunman was seen jogging back to his vehicle before driving away from the scene.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was called to the 2300 block of Hillside Avenue where they found a person suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of first responders, Christopher Brown succumbed to his injuries. The investigation into his death moved swiftly, and four days after the shooting, Frank Alexander was taken into custody.
Following his arrest, Frank Alexander faced legal proceedings for the murder of Christopher Brown. He ultimately pleaded guilty to the charge. As a result of his guilty plea, Alexander was sentenced to 45 years in prison for his role in the fatal shooting. The resolution of the case in the justice system brought a measure of closure to a violent incident that cut a man's life short.
