On the morning of January 19, 2021, a violent incident unfolded in the parking lot of a Conoco gas station located in the 3600 block of Dunn Road in Florissant, Missouri. St. Louis County Police officers from the North County Precinct received a call for service regarding a shooting at approximately 11:47 a.m. Upon arrival at the scene, which sits near the intersection of Dunn Road and New Halls Ferry Road in unincorporated St.
Louis County, first responders discovered a young adult male suffering from a critical gunshot wound to the chest.
The victim was urgently transported to a nearby hospital for life-saving treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival. Authorities subsequently identified him as 21-year-old Trevon Edward Wright, a male resident of Florissant who was Black. The St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons immediately launched a homicide investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the daylight shooting.
In the months following the death, detectives made significant progress in identifying individuals believed to be responsible for the killing. On June 21, 2021, prosecutors charged Isaiah Addison-Hill, a 22-year-old man from Normandy living in the 7700 block of Circle Drive, with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with the case. The investigation continued to yield results, leading to further legal action later that summer.
By July 30, 2021, a second suspect had been apprehended and charged. Armon I. Burns, a 22-year-old resident of Ferguson, also faced counts of first-degree murder and armed criminal action. The authorities alleged that both men played a role in the fatal event that took place at the gas station earlier that year, bringing the total number of individuals accused in Wright's death to two as the legal proceedings commenced.
