A retired man is found dead in his home Samuel H. Kessler, a 94-year-old former Montgomery County Commissioner and retired farmer, was found dead in his home in rural Ladoga, Indiana, on January 29, 2012. His death was ruled a homicide following an autopsy that revealed he had been shot. Kessler's residence appeared to have been ransacked, indicating a potential robbery motive. A business acquaintance discovered Kessler's body after failing to reach him by phone and noticing the door to the home was ajar.
