On the morning of Saturday, July 24, 2021, a fatal shooting occurred in Belton, Missouri, that claimed the life of 22-year-old Rahiem L. Pulce. The incident took place on Maggie Court, a residential street where gunfire erupted, leaving Pulce dead and two other individuals injured. Pulce, a male resident of Kansas City, Missouri, was identified by authorities following the violence that disturbed the weekend morning.
The aftermath of the shooting saw the surviving victims seeking urgent
medical attention independently rather than waiting for emergency transport at the scene. Those involved in the altercation arrived separately at Research Belton Medical Center and a QuikTrip gas station located near Missouri 58 and Bel-Ray Boulevard. Belton Police Department officers responded to these locations as well as the initial crime scene on Maggie Court to secure the areas and begin their inquiry into the events that led to the bloodshed.
Initial findings released by the Belton Police Department suggested that the violence was contained within the group of individuals present during the incident. Lieutenant Dan Davis stated at the time that the investigation had not indicated the involvement of any outside parties or additional suspects beyond those who were shot. Consequently, no external manhunt was announced, and public reports following the immediate investigation did not detail the filing of charges against the surviving injured parties, implying the dispute may have been internal among the group.
