Tariku Fite, a 39-year-old Ethiopian immigrant, was tragically killed on October 9, 2021, in Riverside, Missouri. Fite was found near his vehicle at a QuikTrip gas station on NW Gateway Avenue, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Fite was a well-known member of the Ebenezer Oromo Church and had been living in the Kansas City area for over a decade, dedicating his time to helping fellow immigrants adapt to life in the United States.
