In the early morning hours of January 30, 2022, violence shattered the quiet of the Bevo Mill neighborhood in St. Louis. Officers from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the 4200 block of Delor Street around 2 a.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered a man lying on the ground with severe puncture wounds.
The man, later identified as 38-year-old Perry Pitford, was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the officers'
arrival. Homicide detectives were called in to take over the investigation into the fatal shooting. The initial incident report indicated that two suspects were believed to be involved in the events that led to Pitford's death, though further details about their identities or the circumstances of the shooting were not immediately made public.
As the investigation continues, authorities have urged anyone with information regarding the death of Perry Pitford to come forward and contact the homicide division directly or to leave an anonymous tip with CrimeStoppers.
