Hi everyone, I’ve been following Dawnta DeWayne Civils’ case and something that really struck me was the location where the shooting happened. Brookside Avenue is a part of the neighborhood that many residents describe as close-knit, yet it seems to be caught in the crossfire of these escalating violence issues. I keep wondering how the community can cope with such frequent tragedies when they hit so close to home. It’s incredibly moving to think about the friends and neighbors who have known Dawnta and his family for years, grappling with this loss. I hope that by coming together for support, maybe something positive can rise from such a senseless act. Does anyone know if the community is doing anything in Dawnta's memory or to address the safety concerns in the neighborhood?
