I've been following the case of Damon Atkins, and something that's been on my mind is the response time for these kinds of incidents in the Hodiamont Tracks area. It seems like the community has been struggling with gun violence for a while, and I'm wondering if there's a pattern of delayed responses due to high call volumes or understaffing. It's so painful to think that Damon and others might have had a fighting chance if there were more resources available or if the community had better support systems in place. My heart goes out to Damon’s loved ones; I hope they find some peace and that the community comes together to demand changes that can help prevent future tragedies. If anyone has more insight into how these issues are being handled or if there are ways to support local organizations pushing for improvements, please share. We all need to rally behind stopping this cycle of violence.
