I’ve been following the tragic case of Deundrea Woods and Mackenzie Lashley-Childers, and my heart goes out to their families. It’s particularly concerning to me that this happened so close to the holidays. I can’t even begin to imagine how devastating it must be for the families to face such a loss at a time that’s usually filled with joy and togetherness.
I’m also really worried about the child who was found alone at the scene. It's a small relief that they weren’t physically harmed beyond some minor injuries, but the emotional impact of this event is bound to be significant as they grow up. It's crucial that they have a strong support system around them, and I hope the family can provide that.
What’s equally frustrating is that no leads have come to light regarding potential suspects. It’s been almost a year, and the thought that someone could commit such a brutal act and still be out there is chilling. I understand that these things can take time, but it’s painful to think of the loved ones waiting day after day for answers. It seems like the community has rallied around them, but I hope more people come forward with any information, no matter how small it might seem.
If anyone out there has any insights, or if there are updates, please share them. The families, and especially that child, deserve justice and some peace.
