I've been thinking a lot about the role of mental health in the tragic case of the Day family. It's haunting to realize how the warning signs were there—James Day's violent behavior and history of domestic abuse could have indicated the potential for disaster. One question that keeps bothering me is how these signs were perceived by those around him. Were there pleas for help that went unheard or were dismissed? It’s tough to imagine the guilt and regret that might linger among those who knew the family. I hope we can learn from this tragedy and ensure that people exhibiting such dangerous behavior receive the help they need before it escalates to this level. My heart goes out to those who loved Michael and his siblings. I can’t imagine the pain they must have gone through.
