I've been following the tragic case of Tajh D. Johnson-Ross, and something that really sticks out to me is the role fear seems to play in these situations. It's disheartening to think about how many people might know something crucial but stay silent out of fear or mistrust. I've seen this happen in other cases as well, but it’s especially painful knowing that every bit of withheld information could potentially bring justice to Tajh's family. He deserves justice, and his loved ones deserve answers. It's a harsh reality that the culture of fear and retribution makes it so challenging to break these cycles of violence. I genuinely hope that one day, we'll see more community-led initiatives that encourage people to come forward without fear of retaliation. For Tajh’s family, I can only imagine the strength they must have just to face each day. My heart goes out to them, and I hope they find the answers they need.
