I've been following Jane Schreur's case and something keeps sticking out to me. Why did it take until November 2019 for her to be officially reported missing? It seems like such a long time after she was last seen in May. I understand everyone grieves differently and there's no right way to deal with a loved one who's out of touch, but that delay is puzzling. I know families sometimes think people just need space or they're off the grid willingly, but in this case, it sounds like there were several months where maybe more could have been done. Has anyone else come across similar delays in other missing persons cases? Just wondering how common it is for families to wait several months before filing a report.

I find it so perplexing that Jane Schreur wasn't reported missing until months after she vanished, even though she was last seen back in May 2019 and not officially reported until November. No judgment on the family, but it makes me wonder about the social dynamics in her life. Was Jane living a more isolated life, or perhaps just independently, where it wasn't unusual for her to go silent for a while? It's so critical for communities to look out for each other, because sometimes it feels like someone's absence can easily slip under the radar for far too long. Thoughts on how communities can prevent similar late reports from happening?

It's so eerie to me that Jane's disappearance was officially reported months after she was last seen. I mean, how does someone just drop out of contact with everyone for that long, and it takes until November to make things official? I can't help but wonder if there were any signs or clues missed in those early months that could've led to finding her sooner. The fact that she was last seen on the north side and then her remains turned up in the Winnebago River makes me question what might have happened in between. With no foul play suspected, it feels like there’s a piece missing in this puzzle. Anyone have thoughts on why it took so long for her case to get reported?
