Was anyone else struck by the conversation Joe Paul Hambel had with a Salem police officer just hours before the tragedy? It's so chilling to think about. From what I read, Hambel expressed his frustrations with the drug situation and even named Valerie specifically. I can't imagine how her family must feel knowing that this could've been a chance to intervene before things escalated. It's hard not to wonder if there were signs that could have been picked up on. Hindsight is always 20/20, but this is such a stark example of how important it is for law enforcement and community members to address concerns before they spiral out of control. My heart goes out to Valerie and Joseph's families. The weight of losing loved ones in such a violent way is unfathomable. What are your thoughts on how communities should handle these types of situations to avoid tragic outcomes?
