Has anyone else looked into the background of that failed hotel project in Harvey? The more I read, the more it feels like there’s more layers to this than just financial mismanagement. Joseph Letke seemed to be a well-connected guy in the world of municipal financing, which makes me wonder about the extent of his connections and who else might have been involved. It’s tragic to think of the pressure he was under, especially with investigations circling and personal troubles mounting. It feels like the full story behind how a hardworking city comptroller became embroiled in such a mess is yet to be uncovered.
