I just came across this case and can't stop thinking about the impact it must have had on the community. The Sports and Spirits Bar, where Nicholas Lee Powers and the others lost their lives, had quite a history of violence, it seems. I wonder if the repeated issues at that bar contributed to this tragedy being overlooked by some witnesses who might have thought it was "just another incident." It's so frustrating to see how the unwillingness to cooperate is stalling the investigation. It's hard to imagine the pain Nicholas's family must be going through, knowing that no justice has been served yet. Does anyone think that the bar’s closure could have led to other spots in town becoming safer, or did this just transfer the problem somewhere else? I really hope someone comes forward with the information needed to bring some peace to the families of all the victims.
