I've been following the tragic case of Catalina Lujano-Campuzano and her son, Gustavo, and my heart goes out to their family and friends during this unimaginably difficult time. While reading through the reports, I found myself really disturbed by how easily Franco Navarrete was able to obtain a firearm despite his illegal status in the country. It raises so many questions about the systems in place meant to prevent such tragedies. I can't help but wonder if there is more we can do as a community to address these loopholes. It's so unsettling to think that someone with a false identity could purchase a weapon and bring such devastation to a family and neighborhood. My thoughts are with everyone affected by this senseless act.
