I've been reading through the details of Steven Hess's case, and something that's really troubling me is the impact this has likely had on the motel staff who were working that day. I can't even imagine the fear and trauma they must have experienced being so close to such a terrible incident. It's one thing to hear about tragedies like this on the news, but to be right there when it happens? I hope the motel has provided support to their employees, whether through counseling or other means, to help them cope with such a traumatic event. It also makes me wonder about the larger issue of workplace safety, especially in places like motels where confrontations might escalate quickly. Does anyone know if the Diplomat Motel, or similar businesses, have taken steps to improve security or support their staff better after something like this? My thoughts are with Steven's loved ones and everyone affected by this tragedy.
