Steven Hess, aged 48, tragically lost his life on February 7, 2018, in Oakland City, Indiana. Hess was the manager of the Diplomat Motel, where the incident occurred. On that fateful morning, deputies from the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at the motel around 8:00 AM. Upon arrival, they discovered Hess had been fatally shot. The Indiana State Police, along with the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office, immediately launched a homicide investigation.
