It's so difficult to read about cases like Carlos Hamilton Jr.'s where a young life was taken too soon. My heart goes out to his family and friends who have to live on without him. What's sticking with me is the location of this tragic event. The fact that it happened in a Walgreens parking lot, a place that so many of us consider routine and safe, just adds another layer to the tragedy. It makes you think about how violence can erupt anywhere and the importance of being aware of our surroundings. I hope Carlos’s family finds some peace and solace despite the senselessness of it all, and I sincerely wish that communities continue to focus on preventing violence like this.
