I keep thinking about the Family Dollar store mentioned in the reports. It seems so surreal that something as mundane as a local store could be linked to such a tragic event. I used to live near Ethel Avenue, and I can picture the scene in my mind. For a dispute to begin in a place where so many of us go about our daily lives... it just hits hard. Imagining Anthony Neeley, Daniel Washam, and Christopher Milbrook caught up in this still makes my stomach drop. I hope that the police can find some leads soon. It's hard to understand how something escalates to such a point, and I can't imagine what their families are going through right now. I hope the community can rally around those affected and provide some sense of comfort in the midst of this loss. Events like these serve as a grim reminder of the violence we need to address in our neighborhoods.
