I've been thinking a lot about the people left behind after these horrible incidents. My heart goes out to the families of Lavell Edmond and Temia Haywood. It's just unimaginable to lose a loved one in such violent circumstances. I can't stop thinking about how this tragedy might have affected the neighbors and the community in Gary. Living close to the scene of such a brutal crime must be terrifying. I hope there are community resources in place to help them heal and move forward. It's important that we come together to support one another in times like these, even if it's just by extending a little extra kindness or being there for someone who needs to talk. Anyone know if there are community meetings or support groups being formed in response to what happened? I think that’s really crucial in the aftermath of such a tragedy.
