Did anyone else see the coverage on the vigil for Keyonja Barnes? It's just so upsetting to think about what his family and friends are going through. Losing someone so young and then having more violence erupt during events meant to honor him is just beyond comprehension. It really makes you think about the cycle of violence impacting communities, and how it seems like some are plagued constantly with these occurrences. I really hope that initiatives and support start gaining ground in Evansville to tackle these issues and bring peace and safety to our neighborhoods. It’s hard not to be moved by the pain this family is enduring, and I can only imagine how desperately they’re seeking not only justice for Keyonja but also some respite from these senseless acts. I truly hope for some positive breakthroughs soon, both for this case and the community as a whole.

It's been over three years since Keyonja Barnes was tragically taken from his family and community, and it feels like time is standing still for those seeking justice. I cannot imagine the pain his loved ones must be feeling, especially with no clear answers or suspects in sight. The fact that his case and others from 2020 remain unsolved is deeply troubling and highlights a broader issue within the system. What really stood out to me is the community's persistent struggle with gun violence, clearly evidenced by the violence even during gatherings meant to mourn and honor Keyonja’s life. It's heartbreaking that such acts of remembrance can turn into scenes of further tragedy. I hope that with continued community engagement and vigilance, someone will come forward with information that can provide a breakthrough in the case. Keyonja and his family deserve answers and closure. Let's not let this case fade into the background and continue to push for justice. Has there been any updates or initiatives to help gather more information lately? I'm keeping them all in my thoughts and hoping for a resolution.
