I just came across a really haunting detail about the Christopher Watson case that I didn't know before. When the family was moving out of their home, trying to leave behind those threats and fears, they were actually loading a treadmill into their vehicle. I can't imagine the sheer panic and desperation they must have felt in that moment. It's one thing to pack up and try to escape the danger, but to be ambushed like that, while doing such a mundane task like moving a piece of exercise equipment, makes it all the more chilling. My heart goes out to Watson's family—not just for their tragic loss, but for the sheer injustice of trying to start fresh only to be met with violence. It’s a stark reminder of how deeply these cycles of retaliatory violence can ripple through communities, impacting the lives of innocent young people like Christopher.
