I was going through the details of Welton "Wick" Pierce’s case again, and something struck me about how close his truck was found to the main road. A mile might not seem far if you're not in the middle of dense woods, especially for someone with dementia. I'm curious if anyone local to Natchez knows more about that area near 400 Tate Road. Is it easy to get turned around there? Could he have wandered off trying to find his way back? It's bittersweet to think how close he was to being found earlier. It's a classic reminder of how disorientation can unfortunately turn a short distance into an insurmountable obstacle. Would love to hear any insights about the terrain or local search efforts at that time.
