I was just reading up on the John Gyurtsak case again, and something keeps puzzling me. His boat, *Thermocline*, was found anchored with the engine running. If he was skilled enough to safely anchor the boat, why would the engine still be on? You would think any experienced boater, especially someone with his background, would know to turn it off. Was there a mechanical issue, or was there some urgency that caused him to leave it running? It’s such a mysterious detail that makes you wonder if something unexpected happened right as he anchored. It’s these little bits that keep me going over this case in my head. Anyone have any insights or theories about this specific detail?
