I’ve been following the Childs family tragedy and my heart goes out to everyone affected, especially Rita’s friends at Hoosier Academy. Reading about Rita and her dreams of becoming an entrepreneur at such a young age is incredibly inspiring. She was clearly someone with big ambitions, and it must be devastating for her classmates and teachers to process losing such a bright presence. Given her leadership skills and that entrepreneurial spirit shown with "Act Up Beauty," I imagine she was loved and deeply respected at school. It’s hard not to think about how her future could have unfolded. Schools often have ways to honor lost students, like memorials or scholarships. Does anyone know if Hoosier Academy has done something to remember Rita and the positive influence she had on her peers? It might provide her friends with a bit of comfort and a way to keep her memory alive.
