George Robert McClure, 35, was last seen on May 18, 1973, on a raft in the Wild River north of the Koyukuk River near Fairbanks. He was described as blond, blue-eyed, about five feet eight inches tall and 155 pounds. The Alaska State Troopers opened the case as I73-5624.
Official detail is extremely limited: records note only that he was seen on the raft. His intended destination, purpose for the trip, and whether he was accompanied by anyone are not provided, and neither he nor the raft was ever reported found. The remote, fast-moving river country where he was last seen offers few clues in the existing account.
Does anyone have memories of George, or information about travel on the Wild River in May 1973 that could help fill in what happened?
