Did anyone ever look into whether the stone wall along Route 86 had been repaired or replaced since Patrick Ezzo's accident in 1976? I'm wondering if maybe there were any structural issues that could have contributed to the car going over the edge. Knowing the condition of that wall at the time might provide some insights into the accident itself and whether any other similar accidents happened in that area around the same time. If anyone's local to the area or has historical images, it could be useful to see what that road and wall looked like back then.
I’ve been following the case of Patrick Ezzo, and something that always piqued my interest is the account from witnesses who saw the crash. I mean, how often do you really get eyewitnesses for an accident like this? The fact they described the car flying through the air before it hit the water is just haunting. It got me thinking, if the vehicle was moving at such a high speed, could the velocity have caused it to dislodge any evidence or perhaps even push his body further downstream than initially searched? I wonder if in 1976 they had the technology to really track how something like that might impact the trajectory of the wreckage and any remains. It’s those little fragments of potentially critical information that make you realize how challenging these investigations can be, especially back then. Anyone else have thoughts on how they could do a better search with today’s tech?
