I came across the case of Ephrem, who disappeared back in 1976 after contacting family in Kodiak, AK. Something that keeps nagging at me is the historical context. The 70s were a turbulent time with a lot of folks moving around for work, especially out to places like Alaska where jobs were booming in industries like fishing and oil. Could Ephrem have gotten caught up in that migration wave and somehow slipped through the cracks? It makes you wonder about the opportunities and dangers present in that era for someone like Ephrem. Anyone have insights on what Kodiak was like during that period or similar cases from that time?
