I can't stop thinking about the families of Donald Burton and Joseph Greco Jr. It's so tragic that they never got the answers or justice they deserved. The fact that this case has remained unsolved for so long must be incredibly painful and frustrating for them. I was reading through old newspapers and found it baffling that with all the connections to the Rockford Mafia, no solid leads ever panned out. It makes you wonder just how deep the corruption and fear ran in the 1950s. The bravery these young men must have had to even think about entering the gambling scene without mafia approval speaks volumes. I hope one day the truth emerges, not just for the historical record, but for the peace of mind of their loved ones.
